Young Changemakers Social Enterprise (YCSE) Academy was established by @america, the U.S. Embassy’s American Center located in Jakarta, Indonesia in collaboration with Campaign.com to develop the capacity of YSEALI members in Indonesia to become social entrepreneurs.

The first edition of the YCSE Academy launched in January 2019 with over 100 social enterprises from all over Indonesia participating in over 17 events which generated more than 1.5 million impressions on social media and 105 media mentions.

With YCSE Academy 2.0: Female Socio-techpreneur Edition this year, we reached a broader audience. During the open submission period, we received 216 applications from 22 provinces in Indonesia. Starting in August 2019 with a survey to kick off the program, until our Bootcamp session in March 2020, we held 8 events with over 700 participants and generated over 6 million impressions online and 330 media mentions.

The reason the United States supports women being involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is because women represent 50% of global populations - only 1 in 4 people who work in this field are women. We all know that those fields are driving innovations, which in turn drive economic development. That’s why we need women to be involved in these fields.
